Missional Community work is the ministry of taking the church out to the people, where they live and move.
We have adopted an apartment living community as our missionary community. Independence Manor is a Section 8 HUD housing complex that deserves our time, treasure and talent. We serve meals there every Saturday, and we hold at least one service there per month. We need a wide range of skill sets to serve these people. If you are interested in serving, please contact Deacon Wanda Cuniff, at email@example.com
LOVE, Inc. (Love In the Name of Christ of Nacogdoches)
Through LOVE, Inc., local churches come together in a cooperative effort to help the less fortunate in our community.
The Glory Gang
Recognizing the challenges facing youth today, the Glory Gang is a community-wide, non-denominational outreach in Nacogdoches County, Texas. They help at-risk children, ages 3 to 12, by providing them with something positive and consistent in their lives, sharing the gospel with them, and offering hope for a better future.
Neema House Village Ministry (Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa)
Neema House was founded so that people from the Arusha community could experience the grace and abundance of God through tangible acts of love and service. Neema House is a rescue center for abandoned, orphaned and at risk babies. They care for children when they are most vulnerable, ensuring their health and well-being and developing long-term plans for a safe and loving home in the community, preferably with a family. The on site school provides education for the Neema Village children and the surrounding community children are encouraged to attend. The Women’s Center restores hope to young women of the community through education, business opportunities, parenting skills, day care assistance and spiritual guidance. Two building house AID widows, who have been turned away by their families, giving them a safe refuge while they are taught a skill that they may use to support themselves. Christ Church joins other local churches to donate funds and supplies, along with promoting fundraising projects for this mission. Our parish children chose to donate the money from their Mite Boxes last Easter to the children at Neema House. We have parishioners, who have volunteered their time and personal funds to go to Tanzania to assist for periods of time at Neema House Village.
